Read this if you have an old lock case!
If you have very old doors with old lock cases, you may need to purchase an adapter sleeve for the spindle (square pin) in the handle. If you measure the diameter of the square hole in the lock case and find it to be 9 millimeters, you will need this sleeve. This is because the follower spindle in modern handles and lock cases has a diameter 1 millimeter smaller than the older models. Using the adapter sleeve prevents the handle from becoming loose or play-filled. You can find it linked below.
