The Right Handle AND KNOB for the Right Piece of Furniture
When choosing a knob or handle for a cabinet, we base the decision on the weight and size of the door. For a display cabinet, a smaller knob is often enough, while a wardrobe or a wall cabinet in the kitchen requires a handle with a proper grip.
We have black handles for a modern style as well as gold-coloured models and variants in Mässing for a more classic expression. By changing the fittings you can renew an existing kitchen or a chest of drawers without replacing the entire piece of furniture.
The most important step when replacing handles on existing doors or cabinets is to measure the CC dimension. This is the distance from the centre of one screw hole to the centre of the other. If you measure from edge to edge of the holes, you risk getting a measurement that doesn't match the standard.
We stock handles in several of the standard sizes used in Swedish homes.
- • 32 mm: Often found on smaller fittings or double-mounted knobs.
- • 96 mm: A common size in older kitchen interiors and on chests of drawers.
- • 128 mm: The most common size for modern kitchen handles and wardrobes.
- • 160 mm: Often used in newer kitchens to create a horizontal line on wider drawers.
- • 192 mm: Provides stability on large drawers and heavy integrated appliances.
- • 320 mm: Suited for tall cabinets and long wardrobe doors.
If your cabinets already have holes, the CC dimension determines which models will fit. For new installations, there is freedom to choose length based on aesthetics, where longer models often give a more built-in feel on large wardrobes.
A longer handle can provide a better grip when opening heavy drawers with integrated dampers.
