CHOOSE THE RIGHT LIFT-OFF HINGE FOR YOUR PROJECT

A lift-off hinge is a two-part construction where the halves are threaded into each other. This design lets you lift off the door or window when needed, without unscrewing the fitting itself. Our range includes lift-off hinges in several different surface finishes and dimensions. The right choice depends on the door's weight and where the fitting is to be positioned, where heavier doors often require three or more fittings to distribute the load evenly.

These fittings are direction-dependent and you need to know your door's handing before ordering. Stand on the side of the door where it opens towards you. If the fittings are on the right side you need right-handed variants. If they are on the left side you choose left-handed alternatives.

INSTALLING LIFT-OFF HINGES – STEP BY STEP

Installing lift-off hinges correctly gives you a door that closes tightly and smoothly in the frame.

1. Measure and mark where the fittings should be positioned on the frame and door leaf.

2. Chisel out the wood where the fittings are to be recessed so that they sit flush with the surface.

3. Pre-drill the holes for the screws to avoid splitting the wood.

4. Screw the pin part onto the frame and the other part onto the door.

5. Lift the door and slide the door leaf's part over the frame's pins.
