THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GENUINE RATTAN AND ARTIFICIAL RATTAN
Our range consists of genuine natural materials, but we know that many are also looking for artificial cane on a roll. Genuine cane provides a living surface that ages naturally indoors and can be surface-treated, while the artificial version is made of plastic and is mainly used for outdoor furniture since the material withstands rain and moisture. For joinery and interior fittings indoors, we offer genuine cane webbing to preserve the authentic craftsmanship feel.
After soaking the material in lukewarm water for about 30 minutes, you fasten it to your frame using a staple gun. Start by attaching the webbing in the middle of one side and work your way methodically outwards towards the edges. Then continue on the opposite side and stretch the material properly while stapling. Use staples that are suited to the particular type of wood you are working with.
